What happens when your axle breaks?

Your car's axle is the shaft that connects a pair of wheels on the same axis to your vehicle's transmission. It also helps support your car's weight. Automotive struts, made up of a coil spring and shock absorbers, are another essential vehicle part interconnected with the axle. Driving a vehicle with a broken axle or damaged automotive struts is dangerous. While you may need to visit an auto repair shop so your mechanic can check for axle issues, you can visually inspect your vehicle if you suspect your axle is broken by checking if your wheels rotate.

What are the benefits of an oil change?

If you want to improve your car's health, longevity, and performance, do not neglect the importance of regularly changing the engine oil. The good news is that the manufacturer sets the oil change intervals, making it easier for the car owner to know the milestones that determine when to replace the engine oil. However, some factors can affect the interval of oil change, like the age of the vehicle, type of oil, and driving conditions. With regular visits to your auto repair shop, you will follow the proper maintenance schedule for oil changes. In addition, mechanics offer oil change coupons, making it cheaper to go for vehicle maintenance. In this article, we will discuss the following question: What are the benefits of an oil change? Let's begin.

A car’s brakes are key in preventing accidents and ensuring safety on the roads. They also facilitate smooth stops during driving. Maintenance of these components is therefore very necessary. But how do you know when your brakes need replacing?

  • Longer stopping distance: As your brake pads wear out, they become thinner and thinner, and the vehicle has to do more work to dissipate heat from the braking. This reduces the braking force and makes it harder to stop.
  • Spongy brake pedal: Soft brake pedal or one that requires more pressure indicates low braking fluid or air in the brake lines. This is a telltale sign that you need a break repair.
  • Brake warning light: Most vehicles usually have a light on the dashboard that lights up when your brakes have a problem. If you encounter this, it might be time to schedule a brake system service.
  • Squealing and grinding noises: When your brake pads are worn out, you will usually hear squealing or grinding sounds while braking. On typical brakes, there are metal tabs near the top of brake pads that produces these sounds as a wear indicator. These sounds are a signal that you need to replace your brake pads.

So how do you know when your brakes need replacing? Enjoy a hassle-free summer road trip by keeping up a consistent brake service routine. Preventative maintenance helps you avoid costly brake repairs in the long term. If you some of these signs, schedule a brake repair service immediately to stay on top of your vehicle’s performance.

What Is A
Four-Wheel Drive System?

A four-wheel drive system is designed to deliver power to all four wheels of a vehicle at the same time. This enhances traction and control, making it ideal for off-road adventures and challenging road conditions.

Four-wheel drive vehicles can switch between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. They are common in off-roading vehicles, tow trucks, and other commercial vehicles. They are also common in farm equipment as they help your vehicle power through mud and other rugged terrain.

whats-the-difference-img

What's the Difference Between Four-Wheel Drive and All-Wheel Drive?

"Four-wheel drive" and "all-wheel drive" are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same. The key difference lies in how power is distributed to the wheels. In a 4WD system, the driver can manually switch between two- and four-wheel drives. This system is ideal for situations where you need added traction, like navigating through mud, snow, or rocky terrain.

On the other hand, all-wheel drive automatically distributes power to all wheels at all times. AWD systems are commonly found in crossover SUVs and are designed for on-road use. This provides improved handling in various weather conditions. However, if you are looking for an all-terrain vehicle, you may want to consider 4WD.

system-needs-repair-img

How to Tell if Your
4WD System Needs Repair?

Maintaining your four-wheel drive system is crucial to ensure it operates smoothly. Here are some signs that may indicate your 4WD system needs repair:

If you find it challenging to shift into four-wheel drive mode, it could be a sign of a problem with the transfer case or the actuator. This often occurs with extended use.
